A
reputation for service has been the key to our business growth over
the years. When you bring your machine for service you will receive
a free estimate that will not be exceeded without your approval.
Our large inventory of parts and factory training means that we
can usually provide timely repairs. In the case of Pfaff,
our level 2 electronic certification rating allows us to buy parts
such as integrated circuit chips that are otherwise not provided
to dealerships. If you click on New
Home, you'll see that we're listed with a 'smiley face'
indicating our certification to provide electronic support.

| His
Hands Sew-a-Thon |
On Memorial
Day 2000 we donated classroom space and guidance for anyone who
would be willing to give time and material to make lap and infant
quilts for Loma Linda hospital. It was a "quilting bee"-hive of
activity all day, with the result that 31 quilts were donated.
Thus
began a new Bags & Bobbins tradition of Charity Sew-a-Thons every
5th Monday (happens about once a quarter).
On July 31st we sewed for Casa Colina and on October 30th for
the House of Ruth
On January
29th we'll be sewing for "His Hands", a ministry of
St. Joseph's Church which among its work fo rthe needy distributed
over 200 blankets last year. Join the good fun and good works
on that Monday. Bring your machine or use one of ours. We'll show
you how to do it. Call 909.624.8225 to donate supplies or time.

| About Us: |
We
began in 1969 as the only Pfaff
dealership ever within the borders of Claremont, CA. We have opened
other stores with other names in other locations and with other
shareholders. We've also become dealers for Singer, Necchi,
Ricar, New Home/Janome, Bernina and Brother.
The two constants are that our main store has been within the same
shopping center and Bob Hagelbarger was always an owner (sole proprietor
since 1981).
|
| |
| Bob Hagelbarger: |
|
worked
for a Necchi/Elna dealer in Kansas from 1955, selling &
servicing sewing machines part-time as a college student. After
many years in higher education he came back to sewing in the mid-60's
with S-t-r-e-t-c-h & Sew, supervising the national distribution
and servicing of their sewing machine. In 1969 he joined others
to open an independent sewing store. With a Teaching Credential,
his sewing classes are registered with Claremont Unified School
System's Adult School.
