About our Clubs |
| |
|
While our clubs vary widely, they generally meet monthly, providing a relaxed, social environment for learning, for sharing challenges and achievements, and a bit of recognition with prizes.
The club year begins in September and runs through June (July and August being sabbatical months). Most of our clubs meet on Mondays. Since many holidays are shifted to Mondays, club meetings that conflict with holidays may be shifted as well: check with the store if your club day falls on a holiday.
Activities vary from month to month. Information, supply lists, and samples are generally available in the store a month in advance of the meeting. Club fees are based on the Sept-June year. If you join mid-term, the fee is pro-rated to the remaining portion. If you are new to our store and would like to visit a club as a prospective member, just ask for a one-time free pass. Otherwise, a one-time attendance fee for any of our clubs is $15. (Call (909) 624-8552 for more information about any particular meeting.
The club descriptions here pertain to the 2007-8 year, and currently we are forming ideas for the 2008-9 year. Sorry to say that we will be losing the talent of Linda Kleinschmidt, who has moved away from Pomona Valley. If you have a suggestion of a club you'd like to attend or lead, we'd love to hear from you.

In The Hoop Embroidery Club |
| |
|
Our In The Hoop embroidery club, with Holly Ruppert and helper Bob Hagelbarger, meets at 10am on the second Monday of each month.
This club was first inspired by The Gift You Make internet site, which has since ceased sponsorship of such clubs. Still, monthly projects are items you might choose to give as gifts (or enjoy for yourself). Moreover, the projects are designed for you to learn something about the use of your embroidery machine that you won't learn from your manual or the digitized pattern alone.
Membership fee is $100 for the September - June year.
Instructions are provided for each project as well as digitized designs in format for any machine.
