New Sewing Equipment is Here |
| |
|
This includes the latest and best of Janome, Pfaff, Brother, and BabyLock.
A new departure for us is that we've now added multi-needle, multi-thread machines to our line from Brother, Babylock and Voyager. The cost is close to top-of-the-line of our regular household brands, and production is 3 times as fast.
This may be a good time to repeat that on the phone or internet we will quote only the Manufacturer's Suggested List Price, unless the manufacturer is running a special promotion throughout the region. In general you may assume that we participate in all regional and national sales advertised by our vendors.
See "What's New" with the various brands below:
What's New with Babylock
We're very excited about the new Quest machine for our quilters. This machine is loaded with important features for all-around sewing as well, and is built to last.
Try the new "Wave" Serger with airjet threading (so easy!) and no tension dials to adjust (no kidding--not even for rolled hems and flatlock!). Check out the Bob's Corner article on "What's so great about Babylock?"
What's New with Brother
The current top-of-the-line 4500 Duetta, introduced at Convention in August 2007, will be replaced in the fall of 2008. Of course features are too numerous to list, and now is the best time to get a great deal on the Duetta.
What's New with Janome
Did you ask for Janome quality embroidery with a lower price? Here's the model 350E, an embroidery-only (no sewing) machine. The machine and its price is lighter.
Janome's huge "Giga Hoop" is now in good supply.
What's New with Pfaff
The sewing world is all abuzz about the Creative Vision, which is now arriving in a slow trickle. Our priority waiting list with the best introductory offers closes in early November.
Owners of models 2140 & 2144 can update to the latest 2170 version which is still part of Pfaff's line and still supported in our Pfaff Club and classes. We have great prices on these models now being traded in on the Creative Vision.
Internet Sales
We've received a warning letter from one of our manufacturers saying, in part, that we are "strictly prohibited from describing any term or condition of sale, soliciting, advertising, marketing or making any sales...using or through the internet." The warning continues that any dealer "who engages in activities contrary...will be terminated without further notice." Yes, I know you'll be able to find others who will do it. And they'll tell you that you'll still have a valid warranty at your local dealer. In most cases you won't.
Bring your trade-in machine to the store and we'll give you the best honest deal and follow-up support we can. |

But What About Warranties on Used Equipment? |
| |
|
Vacuums
New vacuums are usually warranted one year. Our premium quality Riccar vacuums are warranted up to 5 years
We warrant our used vacuums 30 days.
Used Sewing Machines
If it's $99 or less:
We encourage you to test it thoroughly before you buy (your fabrics or ours). You try it, you like it, you buy it, it's yours - no warranty.
If it's over $99:
Our warranty on used machines is in three parts:
30 Days: No-questions-asked smiling refund.
One Year: Return the machine to Bags & Bobbins for free parts and labor on any malfunction. In the case of Pfaff machines this is extended to 5 years.
One Year: Want to trade up to a new machine? All you have paid on the used machine will be applied to the new machine of your choice at Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price.
Exclusions:
Warranty is void in the case of accidental dropping of the machine or other such obvious abuse. Warranty does not cover such incidentals as belts and needles that are excluded under the original factory warranty.
*Price Quotes:
While you can be assured that we participate in all national sales advertised by the manufacturer, we will only quote MSRP on the phone or e-mail. Bring in your working old machine with the instruction book and we'll guaranteee a trade-in value well in excess of Blue Book.
*Sales Area:
Leading manufacturers assign sales areas to sewing machine retailers, and we will only sell those macines and accessories in our store or at an exhibition in which we are a participant. We agree with the manufacturers, who suggest that you purchase your machine where you can take lessons. This has become especially important with computerized graphics in sewing. Eventually assistance and service will be required regardless of make and model, and regardless of operator skill. Our advice is: "Always buy your machine within reasonable commuting distance to a dealer that can give you competent assistance." |

Designs Aplenty |
| |
|
If you've visited our store, you couldn't miss the 8-foot wall of embroidery software from Amazing Designs, or the CD collections from Dakota Collectables. Brand new offerings for 2004 are:
OESD's entire collection as an "Embroidery Take-Out" program in your format.
Perhaps the best buy of all this summer is the new "pick 50" disk from Stitchitize. You select 50 of your favorite designs from their thousands of professional designs online. You pay the same price per design that you're used to paying for collections that contained 2 or 3 designs you liked! Come in and get an access code to allow you to get acquainted with Stitchitize and download a design choice for free.
Some of the most dramatic new embroidery effects are coming from Dalco. These products incorporate fabric appliques that blend in with the embroidery so that it appears that you've done a 90,000 stitch design when in fact you've sewn only a small fraction of it. |

Notions |
| |
|
Besides the normal range of notions such as buttons and sewing threads, you'll find many unique notions related to machine sewing here, such as needle threaders, needle inserters, serger looper threaders, and thread delivery systems. Our book selection features titles on uses of machine embroidery and quilting. We specialize in threads for machine embroidery and sergers, such as: Mettler, YLI, Madeira, MaxiLock, Woolly Nylon, Isacord and the latest for 2007, Hemingworth. |

Trade-Ins Accepted and Resold? You Bet! |
| |
|
Since we have many customers who always trade up to new top-of-the-line models, we usually have an ample supply of fine equipment which were recently the finest, at about half the price.
When we accept your used sewing machine or vacuum on a new model, it does at least 3 things:
it makes the purchase of new equipment less costly
it affords you a painless way to dispose of the old equipment
after rebuilding/restoring your old equipment, someone else can enjoy its benefits at less cost. |

Vacuum |
| |
|
Vacuums
We provide quality major brands at competitive prices.
When it comes to carpet cleaning, you can beat that $2300 cleaner that comes on a free demonstration to your house at about 1/7th the price! Ditto on the one that after 5,000 prototypes created a vacuum that "doesn't lose suction." Let us show you how.
Vacuum parts
We carry many thousands of parts in order to provide timely service.
Vacuum belts, bags, filters
It's annoying when mass merchandisers sell vacuums without carrying belts, bags and filters for them. Did you think you'd have to throw your vacuum away because you can't find accessories for it anymore? We've probably got them if they're available anywhere. |

Steam Cleaning
Nothing compares to live steam to dissolve away the grimy film that likes to appear on hard surfaces like tile and glass.
We'd like to show you our selection of steam cleaners for various applications. |
